According to an October 2020 Collider interview with cinematographer Phaedon Papamichael, the Bob Dylan film project was put on the back burner due to the recently announced COVID precautions the studios are taking
French at the Newport Folk Festival In 1965, a young Bob Dylan shook up the folk music scene by going electric and making rock the voice of a generation that defined one of the most transformative moments in 20th century music.
And so Papamichael and director James Mangold move on to other projects
“I don’t think it’s dead,” Papamichael said of the Chalamet-led biopic, “but it’s hard to make in the age of COVID because it’s all set in small clubs with a lot of extras in period costumes, so you have a lot.
Not a glamorous movie to release on the holidays to rip off a few bucks
Our next project is Indiana Jones 5 (2022) As a fan of Bob Dylan and Tim to some degree, I want a solid plot of his rise to fame, much like Walk the Line I DON’T want just a montage of Timmy riding bike on open roads and campaigns This movie hour is a true genius in my opinion and he was fearless in his career and poetry the most serious viewers will stop after 20-30 minutes I want Bob!!
He played new records and main songs, he performed them in a freestyle and very different from the original version
As you can see, I’m looking forward to watching it, but I’m skeptical of this era of movies for the themes and people we everyone loves it.I’d love to see what Bob has to say about it.I saw him play two years ago at Charleston SC and he always does it the way he wants to.
Uncompromising is the name of the game, and for this movie to use Dylan as a portal to make money would, in my opinion, compromise Dylan’s legacy
